Trip notes
From the club member's GPS log of the trip (5 February 2012), lightly edited, with people's names removed. Conditions may have changed since.
We lost visibility at about 1500 m on Tara Tama, but it was warm with no wind. The first part of the descent was slow, because all sorts of features smaller than a map can show kept appearing out of the fog. Progress picked up at about 1450 m on the way down, and we dropped below the fog at about 1350 m. The gully descent was good: steep at the top but free of scrub. We saw a couple of chamois at the top of the gully.
