Trip notes

From the club member's GPS log of the trip (28 March 2014), lightly edited, with people's names removed. Conditions may have changed since.

We went up the wrong scree, as Mt Scott is quite hard from that side and the traverse around is messy, with loose steep scree among small rock buttresses. Both peaks are quite easy from the col between the two. It would have been better to go up that scree to start with, though it would have been a bit of an epic uphill; it was a great downhill run. Mt Scott is just scree nearly all the way to the top. Mt Wilson is a bit easier: go up the ridge for a bit, then traverse boulders rightwards to a small scree slope through the slabs. The slabs give good traction upwards and the scree works for the downhill. Above this, an easy traverse left and up to the summit.
