Trip notes

From the club member's GPS log of the trip (23 December 2009), lightly edited, with people's names removed. Conditions may have changed since.

Beansburn - Rockburn trip, solo. The Beansburn track has been completely remarked and recut, with a new bridge. The Rockburn is also remarked and cut, though with a few windfalls. The route to Fohn Saddle goes up a narrow dry creek bed, which gives a very fast way through what would otherwise be laborious tussock. It is necessary to travel down the true right of the creek draining the Fohn Lakes because of a slot gorge. There are also several slot gorges on the south side of Fiery Col.
